This game highlighted our classic "paralysis by analysis" issues. We have a lot of smart leaders on the team, players who can create. That may be our Achilles heel. Back when Sue was our point guard, she organized everything for everyone, both on the floor and from the bench. I think our best games this year have been when Skylar has a zillion assists. Erica's recent courtside interview about her shot at the end of the GSV game highlights this issue. She considered passing to Slim and to Sky, and they both waved her off and she took the shot (lucky for us).

Very good points. Skylar is an excellent PG and generally a good leader but she doesn't have the command of everything that Sue had. I know she can play a heck of a lot better than she did and get a load of assists and points. She has to come through for us and the team. She has it in her. We also need a much better game from Nneka like 25 points or thereabouts.

It's interesting that both Skylar and Slim waved off EW so that she had to take the shot. I didn't notice that watching on TV. You weren't there were you? Maybe I just wasn't watching closely enough.

EW mentioned it in a courtside pre-game interview.

Exactly! This game sucked. I mentioned to another sportswriter how awful the game was, and he informed me I could turn off my television. 😂 No really?

How upsetting to hear the Storm players excuses that they weren’t “ ready” to play. It encapsulates the toxic nature of this team from the coaching staff down. They were unprepared and played with no pride or heart. What an embarrassment and a big FU to the fans. Terrible leadership from the coach and Nneka and Skylar. To see our two number one picks, who won 2 championships, choose to leave the team and go on to have more success is really disheartening. I’m happy for Jewell that she is being so efficient and playing with joy again. She was smart to get out. Oh, and glad we traded away a pick in desperation to get Sykes who has been a big zero. As a fan, why should I continue to care about this team when the players behave like they don’t even care?

I agree that there's absolutely no excuse for saying that we weren't ready to play! This is the playoffs people. If you're not ready to play in them then you are not Professional Basketball players. That may be the most ridiculous excuse I've ever heard for failure.

What an embarrassing loss for the Storm! It was hard to believe that they could play that poorly. Where is their pride? Where is their will to win? Where is the fight to really accomplish something important as a team? Gabby and Dom were the only 2 players who played like they cared about the game. Dom did get her shot blocked a lot and she missed some easy shots that she usually never misses, but, overall, she played a good game and I was really proud of her and Gabby. I loved the 2 3-pointers that Dom swished through the net - maybe she should be taking most of our long distance shots. No one will be able to stop her out there without fouling her. Skylar and Nneka and Slim and Ezi have to really bring it Tuesday - bring high energy and bring their "A games" if we're going to return to Vegas with a chance to win this series. I'm sure EW will be ready to play - she always brings the energy! We'll know soon enough if this team can play lock-down defense and play like Champions because we know that the Aces can!!

Gabby needs to steal them blind, too. And swish some 3-pointers herself. Either her or EW or Nneka need to swish some 3's (or Sky or Dom), but it all starts with our defensive pressure and, of course, we have to take care of the ball, too.
