A'ja gets the whistle more than any other player in the league and it's been that way since at least 2020. Wilson is also one of the most dominant players, so it's difficult for other teams to stop her or even slow her down.
A very disappointing game for us Storm fans. Vegas is a great team but we should not be blown out by them if we're playing at our best with high intensity and energy. We have to shoot a lot better and play better defense. Ezi's poor play was rather striking. Even though Dom got her shot blocked several times, she played a lot better than Ezi. We may need to start Dom with Nneka to stand a decent chance of beating the Aces on Tuesday. It's certainly something to consider. Also Nneka has to play a lot better. They showed on the screen that when we beat Vegas this year Nneka averaged 24 points I believe and when we lost the 2 games she only averaged 10.5 ppg, which is right where she was tonight. Starting Dom with her should help Nneka's scoring totals. Also, Skylar has to start much better than she did and have a lot more assists than she did. She needs to get 6 assists or more. Gabby played pretty well. She was consistent and a bright spot if there was one among the starters. I have no idea why Slim struggled so badly. That seemed really atypical for her. There 3-point shooting was phenomenal. I don't think they can do that at Climate Pledge Arena.
I'd be shocked if they changed the starting lineup at this point. One of the biggest issues with Ezi was that she only took two shots, too. So much needs to change in 2026, and I think Magbegor will end up being a big topic and decision that they have to make. I definitely plan to write more about that in the future.
