Big Run Leads Liberty Past Storm 95-83

New York used a 15-0 run late in the 2nd half to control the game.

(Brooklyn, New York) - The Seattle Storm (6-26) lost their 9th game in a row on Monday evening against the New York Liberty (18-13) by a final score of 95-83. While the Liberty led by double-digits in all four quarters, the Storm did cut the deficit to three points late in the third period. Unfortunately, New York went on a 15-0 run between the end of the third quarter and the beginning of the fourth quarter to balloon their lead to 18 points.

Seattle had just three players reach double figures in scoring. Flau’jae Johnson led the way with a superb game of 25 points on 8-15 FG. She also had three rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Natisha Hiedeman finished with 17 points and a game-high seven assists. Dominique Malonga rounded out the group with 17 points on 6-11 FG and six rebounds.

The Storm were beaten in almost every facet of the game. But one area they made a major improvement in from their last game was that they only turned the ball over eight times after giving it away 20 times in Atlanta. Seattle forced New York into 15 turnovers and outscored them 20-12 in points off turnovers.
