I appreciate Jade’s candor; it’s disconcerting, however, to hear - essentially - that we have things to clean up, they’re characterized as relatively simple fixes, and that we will get them cleaned up, yet the issues persist. Hearing that is eerily similar to what I heard in the latter stages of the Pete Carroll era. “Easy” fixes that never got fixed.

I enjoyed the first half - but the turnovers, starting in the second quarter were especially painful. And Jade Melbourne simply has to clean up her passing and play more under control. I’d been looking forward to watching Olivia Miles, and I have to say, I was MOST surprised by her defensive effort. I always knew she was a gamer on offense - but in college she dogged it on defense. Not anymore. I think she landed in the perfect place with Coach Reave.

Selfishly I wanted Miles to come to Seattle. I had become convinced that she would, after two years of speculation that she would land here. I’m still in denial that she’s not here lol. But for her career path, she is in a fantastic place. I can see them winning the title this year.

Everything after the first quarter was pretty tough to watch. Not a ton of positives.

Hey Cole, on the positive side, not only did the Storm not have to call a timeout 3 minutes into the game, Cheryl actually blinked first in the timeout showdown! Gotta take your wins where you can get ‘em. 😂

The game started so well for the Storm. They had me wondering 'are our shooting woes over'? Unfortunately for us they were not. Even worse were our terrible mostly stupid turnovers as we kept trying to force passes into the paint and constantly watching the Lynx intercept them. I think everyone knew that Olivia Miles would be much more of an impact player from the get-go than Awa Fam which is why everyone wanted her. Hopefully Awa's impact will increase in the future and become similar to that of Miles if we're lucky. Our rebounding is still sub-par. We really need to get Dom out there longer and pair her with Awa and/or Mack for better rebounding. It's great that Flaújae rebounds well but your best rebounder should not be a guard.
