Yes that is pretty terrible. No one else had nearly that bad of a +/- as Lexie Brown. I've had difficulty seeing what value she brings to the team. It's easy to see the value Zia Cooke brings. It's obvious. She's great. Dom was very good and is just going to get better. I was disappointed that Jordy Horston couldn't put any points on the board. I'm sure she'll pick it up. I love Jade's gung ho approach even though she got knocked around a little. We didn't share the ball very well. That needs to get better as does our 3-point shooting. I wasn't bad but the Valkyries' was great. Overall, not a bad start for us.
Yeah, Lexie has the most TOs an worst +/- even including the preseason games. She was the only player who logged a - in that PDX win. She really looks lost out there. I don’t know if she’s in her head with all of the Klay Thompson rumors backlash, but she’s not playing well.
There was a replay Ion showed of a Valk hitting a 3 over Lexie and she didn't even raise her hands to contest. Defense was terrible, offense wasn't any better. I wish we'd cut her and pay her out for the roster spot. Embarrassing for her.
I don't think she played particularly great either but I find it kind of bizarre to me how literally the only thing anyone is talking about in this thread (and it's basically the same on Reddit and Facebook) is how bad Lexie Brown played. It's only been one game! Dom 20+ points and almost had a double-double and became the youngest player to ever record 200 rebounds! Zia had a career night! Flau'jae hit a three-pointer in the first 11 seconds! Either Lexie will step up or she won't but it's far too early to say she brings nothing to the team or doesn't deserve her roster spot.
Yes! I did start with more to say, but then didn’t say more 😂 my Lexie preoccupation is definitely a carryover from last year + she is literally the only player on the Storm that does not fall under the rose tinted glasses of my fandom. I would LOVE for her to prove me wrong, but last night felt very ‘second verse, same as the first.’
There were many positives for me, including the many 3s we got to fall (sorry Jeff!) and Dom’s beautiful work in the paint. I am very high on Zia and Jade. Also really pleased with the decision to keep Grace on the full roster til Awa gets here and let her work and build up her experience. I feel like the more she plays the more I see the potential in her the coaches see, she will be a great contributor.
Lexie Brown has been - in every game so far. Rennia Davis was + in both her games. Davis showed signs of being a real contributor off the bench in the preseason. I’m sorry she’s gone. As a 9-year veteran averaging under 6 ppg in her career, I expect more from Lexie.
Yes! I thought probably 11 separate times last night that if we’d kept Rennia Davis over Lexie that she would have had points on the board. She had so much more toughness and heart.
The hard thing is when you have someone like Lexie that has a guaranteed contract from last season due to a trade you can't cut them you have to trade them
I believe we can buy her out like phoenix did with Kehlani Brown, the only other player with a contract like Lexie’s that didn’t make them free agents going into this season. We have the cap space. I’m sure they won’t rush that choice. But it is an option.
More to say for sure, but man I really felt that -19 for Lexie Brown. I wish I could root for her, but she really does make it difficult.

Fair point Chris! Jade was also so fun to watch and so tough.
