One of the best aspects of this win was how the Storm clawed back from the huge deficit and did not surrender that progress, as generally happens in such situations. Expending so much energy in coming back usually doesn’t hold up, but the Storm ended up winning going away. Kudos to them.

It's a great point about still having the energy, not only to come back from 21 down, but then to have the energy to go up by double-digits is incredibly impressive. Also, credit to Coach Quinn as both Nneka and Skylar played under 30 minutes in this game. Meanwhile, Kayla McBride and Napheesa Collier played 35 minutes each.

Some of us have wanted more from Noey throughout the season. Sometimes it has seemed that our players have needed more support from her as they kept fighting through fouls that are not called. Yesterday's game was interesting, because the players found their own resolve with some very real but somewhat subtle support from Noey. If Noey has developed a team that derives strength from each other during games, the playoffs could be really fun. In the post-game press conference, they mentioned that they weren't calling plays, they were just finding each other effectively (I'm paraphrasing badly). I am so hoping they can sustain this.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing while watching the game, even when they pushed their lead into double digits. I didn't start relaxing until about 1:30 left, when Minnesota put in their reserves.

Also, does anyone out there read lips? I'm curious to know what Skylar was saying after hitting the 3 to end the 3rd. Whatever it was, it had Erica Wheeler laughing. Her play in that quarter, and the 4th as well, reminded me of some of what we used to see from Sue Bird. She had the fire and was backing it up.

I understand the concern about the team's average age. But wow what a great player to have on your team. I just love to be able to watch her while she still is.

Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty certain Skylar said something along the lines of "Where you at mother f*cker? Where you at?" If I had to guess, she was directing that towards either Courtney Williams or Kayla McBride. Courtney Williams is a notorious trash talker. I believe she was voted #1 or #2 in the league in the biggest trash talker by other players. If it wasn't her, my guess is McBride because McBride was very heated during moments, screaming at the ref at one point. McBride also got the technical foul for throwing the basketball at Seattle during the Storm's win back in Seattle and it seems like she's had a lot of moments of passion and frustration against the Storm this year.

Maybe Muffet McGraw could enlighten about any Diggins-McBride debates…

I think that's probably pretty close. I was guessing it was something like that. I'm glad that the refs let moments like that go. As long as it doesn't escalate, it makes for great moments as a fan. Once again, similar to Bird going off against Phoenix in the 2018 playoffs. Realistically that should have been a technical, but it was much better that it wasn't.

Although seems that Minnesota did get a technical during the break. Oh well for them :).

I agree. It was really exciting to watch and close to unbelievable! We might make some noise in the playoffs yet.

In the middle of the 3rd quarter, we had a really interesting lineup of Diggins-Wheeler-Sykes-Magbegor-Malonga that started the comeback defensively IMO. I don't know if we've seen that before.

Minnesota had a lot of trouble scoring and we got steals and rebounds.

Do you know how many minutes Dom and Ezi were on the court together? I really like seeing that and it seemed to work especially well in this match up.

They played 13 minutes together. Their Offensive Rating was 131.0 and their Defensive Rating was 86.7 for a Net Rating of +44.4. Their True Shooting % was 70.2%.

Obviously, 13 minutes of a single game is much different than an entire season, but for perspective, the Minnesota Lynx lead the WNBA in Net Rating by a large margin and it’s +12.1.

I agree that this was their best win of the season and very exciting to watch in the second half after being pretty depressing in the first half. That has to be one of the most amazing comebacks ever for the Storm! Skylar really is the head of the snake. She is so feisty and fiery which is really thrilling to watch. She provides a nice counterpoint to Noelle Quinn's rather passive calm.
