Despite being - in my view - a bit better than the Storm (OK, my bits are large), they have similar needs to the Storm, and will likely target the same draftees. Both teams need long term answers at the point. Storm needs perimeter shooting; it only seems that Kayla McBride will play forever, which Cheryl probably has figured out. So the two teams probably have Miles and Fudd in mind. I still prefer Miles, even when she gets temperamental, but obviously would be fine with Azzi. Anyone else and I probably would trade or draft and trade the pick, as one of your panelists suggested. I’m all in on the rebuild, painful though it would be. If Fam goes 1/1, then I’m feeling some measure of relief.
I think Fam fits a bit more if the team doesn't re-sign Ezi (or I suppose Nneka). I could end up being wrong, but I still think Ogwumike is likely to re-sign with the Storm. If Ezi doesn't re-sign then you have Nneka with the two young posts in Malonga and Fam. As good as Nneka is, she won't be around forever but she could help develop Malonga and Fam both to take over long-term.
The argument is, what makes the Seattle Storm better overall? Would they be better off re-signing Nneka and Ezi, then drafting say Flau'jae Johnson or Kiki Rice? (this is assuming Fudd and Miles are gone).
Of course the team will know more before the draft because they'll have done some Free Agency by draft day. There is always the chance they land an important guard piece. Maybe that's Allisha Gray, Jackie Young, Veronica Burton, Jordin Canada, etc. I'm not sure any of those happen, but let's just say something like that happens. Then, adding Awa Fam might make more sense, even if they re-signed Nneka and/or Ezi.
Ultimately, the Storm should take Best Player Available if there is a wide margin in their rankings. If they rank Fam as a 92/100 and Flau'jae as an 84/100 and Kiki Rice an 82/100, they should take Fam.
Lynx make me nervous.
How so?

I agree. No players besides fam, miles, or fudd should go 3, but i still don't really see how awa fits.
