I really liked the adjustment to put slim on Howard and gabby on gray. The frustrated those 2 into a combined 8-22. And OMG Gabby! You can't scare us like that! But I'm happy that she is ok and she played well. I was also happy when she got a tech for screaming at the ref. If someone like gabby Williams is screaming and potentially cursing at you you are doing your job wrong. I, like you all I'm sure, felt defeated when we went from 15 up to down 5 with 2 minutes left. But this time we locked in on defense and got into transition. I really hope this is a turning point for the team. With the sparks breathing down our necks we have to be winning. Great game Storm! ( For the first time in a long time.)
I too was glad, proud even of Gabby’s tech on the ref. Here’s the thing, you have two players (Gabby & Nneka) who seldom if ever techs this season because the refs let the game get out of hand and players skirted potential injuries.
The players shouldn’t have to go into theatrics to sell a foul, and (many of) our players don’t…(I said many so you know I’m not talking about Sky—-but SHE doesn’t even get calls). I am sure every team’s fans feel a bit this way but this year has been particularly rough to watch for me. I’m not saying the refs are our only problem, but they are definitely not helping us.
Finally we get a much-needed victory! There is hope for us yet! Can we keep it up against an equally-tough Phoenix team on Sue Bird day? I think everyone will be up for that game. We got good contributions in this game from practically everyone: Skylar and Nneka led the way with good support from Gabby, Ezi, Slim and Dom. We can finally breathe a big sigh of relief!

It was good to see Sky back. With Gabby (G/F) now chiming in, our entire primary guard crew has had it with the refs.
