Yeah, those were painful to watch, especially with how poorly timed some of them were in the second half. Real momentum killers. Here's hoping it's just the chemistry thing that will improve over time.
That was a pretty disappointing game for the Storm. We played the Tempo even in the first half and kept shooting ourselves in the foot in the second half. We really fizzled in the 4th quarter w just 11 points. It was nice to see Dom rebound w 21 points. I was hoping that she'd have a lot more than 7 rebounds because we needed them badly. Dom and Stef were our leading 3-point shooters each making 2 of 3, but we were no match for their downtown shooters, especially Mabry.
After her excellent showing last game, Lexie Brown disappeared again scoring 0 points. I'm concerned about Jordan Horston not contributing hardly anything this year. I know she's on a minutes restriction but she's been nothing like her old self so far. It was the first game that Flaújae really didn't make any noise. We missed her scoring. Jade was her typical warrior self. You gotta love that. I don't know why Mack didn't play more. Grace got some minutes but neither one of them scored or contributed much this game. Hopefully they'll turn up the heat against the Fever. God knows we'll need it.
Despite the deluge of turnovers, I really liked seeing the diversity on offense, a lot more pick and rolls and nice entry passes. I’d rather they try more things and find what works early in the season, even if it leads to 19 turnovers.
Watching Dolson and Dom reminded me how excited I am to see Awa Fam working the high post, her passing is gonna flash immediately with this team.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Dom dial back forcing dribble-drives and instead practice attacking the basket from post ups. She’s just been taking a ton of hard falls and fouls on her drives, and she gets enough of that in fast breaks. She’s just off a concussion too. That said, the team did a way better job getting her the ball and she looked unstoppable under the rim.
All in all, a fun game to watch, and the guards didn’t back down from Mabrey and Sykes, no fear here!
Dom played more like what she is capable of. Ezi coming back should take some pressure off her defensively, and hopefully keep us out of foul trouble. Will be cool to see how Awa works into the rotation as well.
Recognizing it’s very early, but it’s been hard to get any solid feel for what this team is about and who they are. And I’ll need to practice patience, because it may be July before there’s much clarity.

I'm excited to see Awa Fam, too, and see how many different looks she can give us. I hope that we get to see her in about 10 days or so.
