A tip of the hat to Paige Bueckers - she’s a considerably better player than I thought she was. She’s actually has “take-the-game-over” talent. Azzi Fudd’s for real. And I don’t for the life of me understand why Li Yueru doesn’t play more minutes for the Wings. And re the Storm: we are watching Dom Molonga turn into a superstar before our very eyes. I, for one, appreciate the treat.
Paige is terrific, teenage fan girls notwithstanding. I’ve always loved her game. She has a rare blend of humility and stone cold killer instinct. Last night she struggled shooting the ball early on, but remained patient, never forcing the issue. Flau’jae deserves a ton of credit; she made Paige work for everything. Not sure there was anything more she could have done. If Li was your X factor for Dallas, mine was Aziaha James. She channeled her NC State self in a big way.
Re: Li—-Every time Kuir subbed out and Li came in I sighed a bit. Her physicality down under was pretty effective against our sleight bigs. I agreed that she should be playing more minutes (she was a+10 I believe), but sitting next to the visitors’ bench I saw her visibly fatigued when they would pull her. As my seat neighbor pointed out, she (Li) isn’t fit for more minutes——thankfully for us!!
I probably wasn’t very clear: I don’t think Li should have played more minutes in the game against the Storm - it’s that up until last night, the coach has been hardly playing her. I think she’s only averaging about 7 min per game so far this season. And I agree with you that she would help her cause if she were in better aerobic condition.
I hope they feel better after this game even though it didn't go their way. Now they have a template for how they need to play against good teams. Now they see who they can be.
You mean geofence Dom in the paint, pound the ball to her consistently , and let Awa roam the wide open prairie on the perimeter, until people figure out she can shoot? 🤣

I'm sure Li is also getting more minutes right now because Alanna Smith has been injured.
